I know it's a cliche, but wow where have the years gone? I'm looking forward to seeing everyone next summer, right after my oldest son Zach graduates from high school in Honoye Falls.
My family has been the joy of my life with 3 beautiful children, Zach(17), Jake(15) and Hannah(11) along with my wife and bestfriend Leslie(a younger Victor girl). I started my own company in 1985 and have been at it ever since. With 3 businesses under one roof, mens resale clothing( the only one in New York) , tuxedos and drycleaning, I've had some good years and tough ones, fortunately now things are great.
My hobbies and interests include coaching basketball for my boys and now daughter in the travel program for our town. It's been an incredibly rewarding experience volunteering and working with the kids that I have coached for the past 6 years. It's time consuming, but worth every minute. When I'm not working or coaching, kayaking, fly-fishing, and golf do a pretty good job filling up the time.
We have had the pleasure of traveling as a family a ton, we like our vacations! My favorite was a month long trip out west in 2007, 8 states, 6 National Parks and a great week stay with Dave Kuhn and his wife Sheila. For those that may remember, we stopped in Colorado and saw Peter Dyke(Dake Middle School) as well.
Thanks to Jim and the entire commitee for all the great work they are doing in putting the reunion together. I look forward to seeing all my old friends and classmates.
Apparently, I had a bunch of parties at my house back in those high school days from reading some of my dear friends comments. One in particular is close to my heart.
I call it the "GREAT CORN NUT PARTY of 1979". Yes, I'm sure many of you may remember it. I think 200 or so people may have came. Anyhow, as I recall I was attending to some over indulging partiers when one of our dear classmates discovered my mom was a distributor of Corn Nuts. The 10 cases which were stored in my garage quickly proceeded to the home and were thrown all over, and I mean ALL OVER. When I finally got wind of what was going on, all 10 cases, probably close to a 100,000 cornuts were spread out all over the house. Our floors looked like Beef Steak Mining Company. After my "close friends" helped clean them up, we were able to get the house put back together in time before my mother got home. However, we continued to find corn nuts in the house for years to come. Everytime we moved furniture, there was a corn nut. Pulled up the old carpeting, 20 corn nuts. My brother eventually bought the house from my mom and 20 years later, when he moved away, we were still finding those freaking corn nuts!!!
Euchre, Playing quarters in the van, Durand Eastman, The Dog, The Garage Door, Janis's Pool, any of Mrs Lutterbein's Classes, basketball parties, letting hundreds of fire flies out at Jerry Lewis Cinemas, Sea Breeze, Myrtle Beach, Playing poker with the boys, Ken Goodman falling asleep in Dr. O'Connells geometry class(I still laugh thinking about it), my Garage, Tammy's Pool, Tim Locke's Attic, Captain Cook's, Star Market, Malt Duck, Champale, Ponies and so many, many, more.
I miss my great group of close friends, Dave, Mike, Janis, Jimmy, Martha, Frank, Tony, Joan, Lori, Tammy, Leslie, Kitty, Karen, Karen, Karen Allison, & Kim. I know I forgot a bunch, but I'm looking forward to seeing all of you again.
Thank God for those good ol' days. It keeps me double checking to make sure my kids aren't doing the same things!!!
